EC Workshop Integrated Border Management
Using technology to secure Europe’s borders & freedom of movement
This workshop will be a follow on of the panel discussion of the SRE Conference. Those who are interested in Integrated Border management can discuss further with project coordinators and the panellists so that they can look through in-depth what security research can do for policy making in the future.
The European Commission has adopted important measures to help improve border management and the EU’s internal security, as well as to safeguard the principle of free movement of people. This brings opportunities for new technologies on for example the use of unmanned systems and sensors for border protection to ensure strong and shared management of external borders.
