Trouncing the traffickers: capacity-building against criminal networks
The European Multidisciplinary Platform against Criminal Threats (EMPACT) aims towards the development of operational action plans on countering criminality. Important topics are Facilitation of Illegal Immigration, Trafficking in Human Beings, Counterfeit goods, Drug trafficking, Illicit Firearms Trafficking and of course Cybercrime.
This panel will discuss capacity building in security research for EMPACT priorities with a special focus on Cybercrime and illicit firearms trafficking.
The panel will find responses to questions on
- how law enforcement agencies (LEA) can be organised to pool resources and share best practices?
-how can the LEAs guide researches to bring new technologies/procedures? And how do they interact?
-how Security Research Triple helix can be connected with the EMPACT priorities ?
